Late news for yesterday of nine Little Egrets roosting at the south end of the reservoir late evening, another site-record count. An interesting day today with the first Black-tailed Godwits of the year, three ‘islandica’ found mid-afternoon on the west bank off the oak tree. Also at least two Ospreys off & on, one of which bears a blue colour-ring on it’s right leg indicating a Rutland connection, Hobby seen at least twice, 42 Tufted Ducks with an eclipse drake Pochard/Tufted hybrid, f.Gadwall with three young, 2 Mandarins, 1 Teal and the adult Yellow-legged Gull.
