Quite a surprise this afternoon as the Jack Snipe was rediscovered on the west bank in front of the Member’s Hide, making it’s way into the record books as the latest spring occurrence here beating the previous latest on 27 April 1991 with a comparably late bird on 24 April 2013. Both of these were one day birds, in contrast this year’s has been present on & off all month. Also 2 Mute Swans, Pink-footed Goose, drake Shoveler, several Gadwall & Teal, 3 Mandarins, 2 female Goldeneye still, 4 Oystercatchers, 1 L.R.Plover, 1 C.Snipe, 3 Common Sands, 1 Peregrine, 1 Raven, 1 Swift and 2 White Wagtails.
