Undoubted highlight today was 2 ad Roseate Terns that appeared on the west bank at 1015 and remained until sometime around 1300 though were not seen to leave. Both birds had BTO rings on the right leg – the only previous record here was one on 15 May 1968, this was only the ninth county record. Also a Mute Swan, 109 Greylag & 183 Canada Geese, 5 Teal, a Gadwall, 63 Tufted Ducks, 4 Little Egrets, an Osprey late afternoon, a juv Goshawk showing well for about 10-15 mins around midday, 2 Hobbys together again, a Peregrine, a Ringed Plover through, ad Common Tern, 33 Swifts, 2 Ravens & 2 Spotted Flycatchers.
