The Derbyshire Mammal Group has provided the results of the small mammal trapping (and release) that it’s members carried out recently. The totals were; 8 Wood Mice, 15 Bank Voles, 1 Field Vole and 6 Common Shrews.
The presence, based on droppings, of a “large” rat was also confirmed. Glimpses and droppings of this beast have been noted over the last month but nobody has, so far, seen enough of the elusive animal to be able to confidently record a sighting.
