JMNR butterfly transect 10th September 2015

Week 24. Alan Kydd picked the penultimate day of the short Indian summer to carry out this week’s survey, finding most of the action focussed on the Buddleja. 1 Comma, 1 Large White, 1 Painted Lady, 10 Peacock, 5 Red Admiral, 3 Small Tortoiseshell, and 3 Speckled Wood gave a total of 24 individuals of 7 species. In additional 4 other white butterflies entered the transect, but not for long enough to be positively identified to species level.
