Vis-mig at Highoredish produced c300 Redwings, c200 Fieldfares, 22 Bramblings over plus c60 in the area and a Crossbill.

5 Goldeneye.

3 Common Scoter, 1 Goldeneye, 120 Teal, a Rock Pipit NW, 4 Fieldfare W, 2 Chiffchaffs and a Brambling.

1 Mute Swan, 12 Gadwall, 4 Wigeon, a juvenile Goshawk, 3/4 Sparrowhawks, 2 C. Buzzards, 1 C.Snipe, ad Yellow-l-Gull, 2 Swallows flew south-west, 2 Chiffchaffs, 1 Willow Tit, c40 Redwings, 11 Redpolls.

1 Mute Swan, 2 Little Egrets, a Shelduck, 7 Gadwall, 3 Wigeon, 79 Teal, 3 drake Pochard, 19 Tufteds, 12 C.Buzzards in the air at one time, a Sparrowhawk and a few Siskins in the area.

A Rock Pipit flew through.

An adult Little Gull, only the second of the year, with three skeins of Pinkfeet over totalling c245 birds.

A juvenile Goshawk was over the east bank at 0950 and a Rock Pipit flew SE at 1025. Also 65 Redwings west and a Chiffchaff.

The highlights were a Marsh Harrier over the west bank area 0745-57 before leaving south-east that must have roosted at or near the reservoir and the first Green Sandpiper of the year arriving from the north 1105 before landing briefly on … Continue reading →

57 Redwings flew south-west, the first of the autumn. Also 2 Wigeon, at least 28 Great Crested Grebes, 8+ Buzzards, 4 Sparrowhawks, a Peregrine, 2 Common Gulls, c50 Swallows and c10 House Martins.
