1 ad Yellow-legged Gull.

A Little Egret present briefly at 09:40 hrs then flew off S, 4 Goosanders flew through, 24 Snipe. At Highoredish 3 Bramblings, 405 Redwings and 3 Tree Sparrows over in 2.5 hours.

At Highoredish an imm male Goshawk over, a Merlin flew SW at 15:14 hrs, 1 House Martin flew SW, 45 Chaffinch and 2+ Bramblings over. On the reservoir were 32 Great Crested Grebes, 1 Wigeon, 1 ad Yellow-legged Gull.

A probable Pallid Swift (unfortunately seen too distantly for the necessary level of detail required) from Highoredish between 09:40 – 09:48 hrs, also 3 House Martins flew S, 2+ Bramblings 8 Snipe, 6 Common Gulls and several hundred Redwings over. … Continue reading →

1 Pink-footed Goose, 36 Greylag Geese, 1 Mandarin, 5 Wigeon, 38 Teal, 2 Shovelers, 1000+ Redwings over Highoredish between 09:00 and 12:00 (900+ in the first hour).

C190 Pink-footed Geese flew E at 12:07 hrs and one still present with the Greylag flock, 2 Shovelers.

C200 Pink-footed Geese flew NW at 09:50 hrs and one down with the goose flock, 5 Wigeon, 2 Shovelers, 1 Goosander, 1 ad Yellow-legged Gull, ad Common Gull, 1 Little Owl, c110 Redwings.

3 Whooper Swans present early morning then flew N, another 12 (11 adults & 1 juv) dropped in briefly at 11:00 hrs then flew N, 1 fem/imm Goldeneye, 1 Mandarin, 2 Shoveler, 1 Dunlin through, 6 Redwings, 1 Rock Pipit … Continue reading →

3 Whooper Swans, a juv Arctic Tern flew through at 11:07 hrs, 2 Mandarins, 10 Wigeon, 2 Shovelers, 1 ad Yellow-legged Gull, 9 Common Gulls through, 1 Kingfisher.

1 Shoveler, 1 Rock Pipit, 1 Kingfisher, 2 Swallows flew S and 4 House Martins flew S.
