A Short-eared Owl drifted through SE between 10:00 – 10:15 hrs, 520+ Pink-footed Geese flew SE to the north of the reservoir, 5 Mandarins, 3 Wigeon, 8 Pochards, 3 Goldeneyes, 1 Raven. Later in the roost 1 ad Yellow-legged Gull.

3 Wigeon, 5 Pochards, 3 Goldeneye, 5 Goosanders, 5 Snipe flew W, 1 Raven, 1 Chiffchaff, 25+ Bramblings at Highoredish. Later 2 ad Yellow-legged Gulls in the roost but no sign of the Glossy Ibis today.

The Glossy Ibis returned to roost at 15:55 hrs and landed in front of the Members Hide, but was later disturbed by nearby gunshots and flew off and had not returned by dusk. Also 80 Pink-footed Geese flew SE at … Continue reading →

The Glossy Ibis still present in front of the Members Hide at 07:10 hrs, but no sign at 07:30 hrs, also 1 drake Goosander, 6 Pochards.

An immature Glossy Ibis (second record for Ogston) flew in at 16:20 hrs and landed in front of the hide remaining until dusk, 32 Greylag Geese, 1 Barnacle Goose and 2 hybrid young, 1 Mandarin, 2 Wigeon, 8 Pochards, 5 … Continue reading →

1 fem/imm Merlin flew SE at 10:42 hrs, 30 Greylag Geese, 1 Wigeon, 1 Shoveler, 5 Pochards, 1 Goldeneye, 3 Goosanders present briefly, 1 Kingfisher.

1 Barnacle Goose and 2 hybrids, 27 Greylag Geese, 237 Canada Geese, 3+ Wigeon, 5 Pochards, 4 Goldeneyes.

2 Green Sandpipers, 1 Barnacle Goose and 2 hybrids, 11 Wigeon, 5 Pochards, 2 Ravens, 1 Crossbill flew W. Later at least 6 Yellow-legged Gulls and 1 Caspian Gull in the roost.

22 Greylag Geese, 4 Mandarins, 3 Wigeon, 3 Pochards, 5 Crossbills flew S at 08:57 hrs. Later in the roost a 1stW Little Gull and at least 1 Yellow-legged Gull.
