Frampton, Willow Tree Fen and Deeping Lakes

Meeting Point: Frampton RSPB reserve near Boston Lincs PE20 1AY (see notes) Time: 09:00 Transport: Members cars Cost: free Leader: Steve Slack

This is potentially a mixed reserve trip starting at Frampton then moving on to two other possible reserves although this will depend upon whether sightings make that worthwhile. You can check sightings at Frampton on ‘X’ (@RSPBFrampton) and the other two reserves on Facebook. Also try the Lincolnshire Bird Club website (Lincs BC)

Frampton: A fantastic reserve on the south western corner of the Wash. Although there are only 3 hides, there is non-stop interest over a large area. One would expect a wide variety of over-wintering birds.
Approx 2 hour drive from Chesterfield. Directions – most folks will head for Newark and then take the A17 as far as the left turn on the A16 to Boston then follow the directions on the map below/PE20 1AY for the SATNAV. Up to date details can be found on Twitter by searching for @RSPBFrampton.

Willow Tree Fen – Assuming that sightings make it worthwhile, its about 20 miles south of Frampton to Willow Tree Fen Reserve. PE11 3JH on the SATNAV should work. However, one would hope to see Common Cranes. For your own personal research click the following link for their website Willow Tree and for sightings try their Facebook page.
