This morning’s work party was attended by 5 members. Despite the damp conditions and lack of wind, the bonfire was quickly underway and all of the waiting material was burned by midday. In addition the roadside verge was strimmed and the adjacent hedge trimmed back.
Surprisingly there were butterflies flying – a Red Admiral, one or two Speckled Wood and an unidentified White. A few moths were disturbed from the wet grass but only one was identified, a Brown China-mark. Not much on the bird list, only a Heron, Moorhen and Grey Wagtail were reported by the work force.
