JMNR Moth Trapping – 10th August 2024

A 20W actinic Heat trap was set up at the below the butterfly bank on the evening of 11th August and emptied the following morning.

27 species of moth were recorded and identified, 4 of which were new site records: Cydia Splendana, True Lover’s Knot, Small Wainscot and Helcytogramma rufescens. Over 240 moth species have now been recorded at Jim Mart  Also in the trap were number of caddisfly, a cranefly (Rhipidia masculata) and a Hornet.
