The Derbyshire Mammal Group carried out its third annual survey of small mammals at the reserve on the weekend of the 2nd to the 4th September. Over the three trapping sessions 68 individuals were recorded and released. The mix was 13% Pygmy Shrew, 29% Common Shrew, 36% Bank Vole and the remaining 22% were Wood Mouse. In 2015 the figures were 53, 42%, 26%, 17%, 15% respectively.
