The best news today was the discovery of a pair of Pied Flycatchers breeding in the recording area, the first time for many years. Also a summer-plumaged Ruff, 1 Greenshank, 1 Redshank, 2 Ringed Plovers, 2 Dunlin, 1 Common Sandpiper, 3 Common Terns, Goosander, near ad Yellow-l-Gull, Grasshopper Warbler, single White & 2 Yellow Wags and 2 Waxwings still present, the first May record her. Late evening produced 2 Whimbrel on the west bank with a Curlew.
