JMNR butterfly and dragonfly transects – 22nd July 2017

Week 17 of the butterfly transect. John Parlby did the honours and, despite the weather deteriorating, recorded plenty: Comma (10), Essex Skipper, Gatekeeper(8), Green-veined White (15), Meadow Brown (26), Red Admiral (4), Ringlet (3) and three unidentified Skippers.
On the Middle Pond, only 1 Blue-tailed Damselfly was noted during the Adult Dragonfly Survey, probably due to the lack of sunshine and cooler conditions that had returned.
