Mandarins heard at dusk, 3 Gadwall, 7 Shoveler, 7 Pochard, 5 Goldeneye, 24 Goosander roosted, Water Rail, 6 Buzzards, 2/3 Sparrowhawks, 60 Lapwings, 2 Snipe, 4 Woodcocks from Carr Wood at dusk, an adult Black-headed Gull with a Latvian ring and 30+ Pied Wagtails roosting. A Daubenton’s Bat was flying low over the water at the south of the reservoir, probably disturbed by tree-cutting activities around the Public Hide to improve viewing from the ‘Sailing’ Club.
