3 Mandarins on Milltown Inlet with others heard behind the west bank at dusk, a new record (yet again) 56 Gadwall with seven in Chapel Bay and 49 on the water’s edge between the hides along with 3 Wigeon and a fine drake Pintail, 14 Tufteds, 2 Goldeneye, 32 Goosanders in the roost, two different (male & female) adult Goshawks caused the usual mayhem in Carr Wood and over the reservoir late afternoon, 125 GBBGulls in the roost with a lot less Herring Gulls than yesterday though probably more BHGulls ( every day unpredictable at the moment gull-wise), a Fieldfare just south of the five-bar gate on the west bank appears by behaviour to be the same bird back for it’s third winter.
