34 Common Scoters (20 drakes) present till late evening when , at 1953, the flock took off and after circling & gaining height, left WNW continuing there moult migration to the Irish Sea. This is the largest ‘on the water’ flock recorded at Ogston, beaten only by the flock of seventy that flew WSW over the res on 27 July 2019. Also 3 Teal, a Common Sandpiper, a juv Common Tern, an adult Yellow-legged Gull that may have been the returning bird but not seen well enough and 2 Kingfishers – all late evening, with a Little Egret in the morning.
