- A bright sunny day with excellent visibility but a strong chilli north-easterly saw a group of 19 (members and non-members) gathered in the West Car Park for a walk along the West Bank, down to the River Amber, around the fishing ponds and back. Birdwise, it was rather quiet with few of our Summer visitors around. Nonetheless, we amassed a total of 33 species. Once out of the wind, butterflies turned out – Brimstone, Small Tortoiseshell, Peacock and Orange Tip.
