This page aims to provide a daily update on bird sightings for Ogston Reservoir.
It typically provides details of some of the more notable sightings, however sightings for all species are very important to us so please submit these to the Recording Secretary (see details below).
Please note that records of certain sensitive species may not be published here (for the club’s ‘Sensitive species’ list please refer to the ‘Policies and Procedures’ section of the website).
However ALL records received are entered into the Ogston Bird Club database and subsequently submitted to the Derbyshire Ornithological Society (DOS) and Derbyshire Wildlife Trust (DWT).

Three different Ospreys, an adult and two juveniles, throughout. A Merlin on Saturday (5th).

Two juvenile Ospreys in the morning, one apparently unringed, the other with a blue Darvic ring on the left leg which indicates a Scottish bird.

2 Ospreys at least, an adult and a juv., 22 Teal, just 10 Mandarins, 6 Ravens in the air together and Green Woodpecker and Kingfisher.
