Sightings from today’s work party:
Blue Tit, Chaffinch, Common Buzzard (3), Great Tit, Mandarin Duck (2 flew out of the big trees on the north boundary and landed in the brook in the Jolly Cobbler’s field), Moorhen, Nuthatch, Pheasant, Woodpigeon, Wren;
Bank Vole, Rabbit (scrapes, fur and droppings);
Bullhead (a fish, in the brook). Common Frog. Also, there is now frog spawn in the Middle Pond as well as in the Bottom Pond.
In flower: Coltsfoot (C5a), Cowslip (Garden), Lesser Celandine (C1), Opposite-leaved Golden Saxifrage (Hide Pond), Primrose (Garden), Snowdrop (C3b), Strawberry (at the entrance to the Garden).
