JMNR Butterfly transect 10th June 2015

Week 11 results recorded by Paul Beard: Brimstone (2), Dingy Skipper (1), Green-veined White (3), Large Skipper (1), Large White (1), Orange-tip (2), Peacock (1).
One of the Brimstones was a female laying eggs on the North Hedge, so we can expect to see the signs of caterpillars feeding on the Buckthorns within a month.

In addition Paul noted that there were Blue-tailed, Azure and Large Red Damselflies in abundance, a Kingfisher on the brook, a Nuthatch on a tree beside the upper footbridge, and lots of young warblers around including Blackcap, Whitethroat and Chiffchaff.
