JMNR – June 17th 2017

From logbook – Jeff Davis 11.30-12.30, very hot, long sunny periods.

6 Azure damselflies in grass near top pond. 15 Azures, some mating in middle pond and 6 Large red damsels. Approx 50 Azures flying and many mating and egg laying on bottom pond. Also 10+ Reds on rushes and in grass to right of pond. One Red Admiral along stream at C6B.  Several Large Skippers along top path. White Throat in middle hedge, Great Spotted Woodpecker flew across and into tree with owl box. Blackbird. Broad Bodied Chaser on dead stems of reed mace right of bottom pond.
