JMNR Sightings 7th May 2017

Cuckoo heard, Chiffchaff, Whitethroat, Blackbird, Woodpigeon, female Mandarin and ducklings on Brook, Robin, Goldfinch, Mistle Thrush, Magpie, Mallard, Bullfinch heard.
Butterflies recorded for week 6 transect (separate report) also Nettle tap moth and Brown China-mark moth.
Large red damselflies around site, a sawfly (Tenthredo temula), a snipe fly (Rhagio scolopaceus), St Mark’s Flies everywhere!
Tadpoles and newts in Bottom Pond.
In flower: White nettle, Hawthorn blossom, ?Vetch, Yellow Archangel (C6a).
