For the 7th month this year, more than a 100 species were reported – 102 species from a total of 1656 sightings, taking the total for the year to 158 species.
Notable sightings were:
Blackcap (last reported on 7th), Black Tern (1 juvenile on 4th), Brambling (2 on 8th), Common Gull (on 18 dates with a max of 6), Common Scoter (6 on 14th), Crossbill (on 18 dates with a max of 24), Dunlin (on 10 dates with a max of 4), Egyptian Goose (1 on 7th), Fieldfare (first reported on 18th, then on a further 5 dates with a max of 141), Goosander (on 9 dates, with a max of 12), Goshawk (on 6 dates), Great Black-backed Gull (single bird almost daily), Great White Egret (on 4 dates with a max of 3), Green Woodpecker (single birds on 2 dates), Hawfinch (on 2 dates), House Martin (last reported on 12th), Kingfisher (1-2 birds on 12 dates), Knot (1 on 14th), Lapwing (almost daily with a max of 160), Little Egret (almost daily with a max of 6), Little Gull (1 on 13th), Little Owl (on 4 dates), Meadow Pipit (max count of 984 at Highoredish on 5th), Mediterranean Gull (single birds on 2 dates), Mute Swan (on 7 dates with a max of 4), Peregrine Falcon (on 7 dates), Pink-footed Goose (on 14 dates with a max of 530), Pintail (on 4 dates with a max of 2), Pochard (on 6 dates with a max of 4), Raven (almost daily with a max of 5), Red-crested Pochard (1 on 24th), Red Kite (single birds on 2 dates), Redpoll (on 20 dates with a max of 148), Redwing (on 18 dates with a max of 262), Rock Pipit (1 on 4 dates), Shoveler (on 4 dates with a max of 3), Skylark (on 21 dates with a max of 53 at Highoredish), Snipe (on 15 dates with a max of 7), Siskin (almost daily with a max of 159 on Highoredish), Stonechat (on 5 dates), Swallow (last reported on 22nd), Tawny Owl (on 2 dates), Teal (max of 156 on 15th), Water Rail (1 heard on 2nd), Whooper Swan (on 7 dates with a max of 68), Wigeon (on 21 dates with a max of 45), Woodpigeon (11260 at Highoredish on 24th), Yellow-legged Gull (on 20 dates).
