A Water Pipit gave good views at 1110-15 on the scrapes in front of the Member’s Hide before flying towards the north end of the res, the first since 25 Oct 2012. A female Stonechat was off the car park and the ad Red-breasted Goose was still present with 47 Greylags. A wildfowl count produced 8 GC & 3 Little Grebes, 103 Mallard, 8 Gadwall, 47 Teal, 2 Wigeon, 2 Goldeneye, 4 Pochard & 10 Tufteds with 24 Coots, 43 Lapwings and a Snipe. A Chiffchaff was on the west bank as was a Willow Tit. The ad Yellow-l-Gull continued it’s defence of it’s non-breeding territory, attacking & killing an ad Lesser-b-b-Gull in Chapel Bay. Gruesome.
