The final week of the 2016 transect recording season: Alan Kydd was fortunate to be able to choose a warm late-summer’s day to visit the reserve, finding Comma (5), Red Admiral and Speckled Wood enjoying the conditions.
Three Speckled Wood butterflies were recorded on the transect by Paul Beard.
3 Speckled Wood, 3 Red Admiral, 10 Comma, 1 Silver Y. Noon Fly, Marmalade Hoverfly,8 Common Darter, 3 Southern Hawker. Woodpigeon.
2pm, 21C 2 Speckled Wood, 1 Comma, 1 Small Tortoiseshell, 1 unidentified White. Silver y moth. Common Darter, Sparrow Hawk, Squirrel.
