A cloudy afternoon at the reserve, however it did not prevent the day-flying moth Grass Rivulet from being on the wing in good numbers.
Birds: Blackbird, Chiffchaff, Garden Warbler, Goldfinch, Pheasant, Woodpigeon.
Butterflies: Green-veined White, Orange-tip, Peacock, Small White.
Damselflies/Dragonflies: Just a single Large Red Damselfly.
Other invertebrates: Green Lacewing, Noon Fly.
Flowering plants included Black Medick (C4a/b), Bluebell (C4a), Common Sorrel (C3a), Creeping Buttercup (C3a), Cuckoo Flower (C3a), Guelder Rose (Car Park), Lady’s Mantle (C6a), Meadow Buttercup (C3a), Ragged Robin (Middle Pond), Red Clover (C3a), Ribwort Plantain (C3a), Rowan (C4a), Water-cress (Bottom Pond and stream edge), White Dead-nettle (C4a/b), Yellow Archangel (H3 near the bridge).
No mammal droppings on the monitoring raft.
