JMNR Moth Trapping 6th September 2025

A 20W actinic Heath trap was set up at the base of the butterfly bank on the evening of 6th September and emptied the following morning. 33 moths of 18 species were recorded, 5 of which were new site records (shown in bold): Canary-shouldered Thorn 1, Snout 2, Copper Undwerwing agg., Green Carpet 4, Oak Hook-tip 1, Square-spot Rustic 1, Celypha lacunana 2, Light Brown Apple moth 1, Iron Prominent 1, Common Marbled Carpet 1, Frosted Orange 1, Common Wainscot 1, Rush Veneer 1, Autumnal Rustic 1, Large Yellow Underwing 10, Garden Rose Tortrix 1, Single-dotted Wave 1, Bactra sp. 1
