2 Ravens and a male Brambling in the west car park.

The female Stonechat was seen again this morning but little of note this afternoon with the esc. Yellow-billed Teal in Chapel Bay and an additional ad Yellow-legged Gull in the roost with the usual ringed assassin.

The ad Red-breasted Goose was on the west bank with 89 Greylags. Also 4 ad Mute Swans, 6 Gadwall, 4 Wigeon, single Goosander & Goldeneye, 3 L.Grebes, just 4 Tufteds and the ad Yellow-l-Gull in a small roost though again … Continue reading →

The Hawfinch was reported again mid-afternoon in the churchyard and a late Swallow was in the same area. At the res 2 Gadwall, 4 Wigeon, 1stW drake Goosander & a drake Mandarin with 3 Little Grebes and 75 Lapwings.

Male Goosander, 3 Wigeon, Peregrine, ad Yellow-l-Gull and the f. Stonechat were the highlights of a very wet morning.

A fine male Hawfinch was found in the churchyard mid-morning by Mark Pass and showed quite well occasionally thereafter, though not recorded at all last winter this could be the same bird present throughout March 2014 in the same area. … Continue reading →

Ad. Red-b-Goose, 50 Greylags, 100+ Teal, 5 Gadwall, 5 Wigeon, 2 Pochard, 9 Tufteds,  2 Goldeneye, Goosander & ad. Yellow-l-Gull. Also Chiffchaff and four Redpolls.

A Water Pipit gave good views at 1110-15 on the scrapes in front of the Member’s Hide before flying towards the north end of the res, the first since 25 Oct 2012. A female Stonechat was off the car park … Continue reading →
