This page aims to provide a daily update on bird sightings for Ogston Reservoir.
It typically provides details of some of the more notable sightings, however sightings for all species are very important to us so please submit these to the Recording Secretary (see details below).
Please note that records of certain sensitive species may not be published here (for the club’s ‘Sensitive species’ list please refer to the ‘Policies and Procedures’ section of the website).
However ALL records received are entered into the Ogston Bird Club database and subsequently submitted to the Derbyshire Ornithological Society (DOS) and Derbyshire Wildlife Trust (DWT).

The female Stonechat was seen again this morning but little of note this afternoon with the esc. Yellow-billed Teal in Chapel Bay and an additional ad Yellow-legged Gull in the roost with the usual ringed assassin.

The Hawfinch was reported again mid-afternoon in the churchyard and a late Swallow was in the same area. At the res 2 Gadwall, 4 Wigeon, 1stW drake Goosander & a drake Mandarin with 3 Little Grebes and 75 Lapwings.
