Broad-bordered Yellow Underwing

The moth trap was set up on the evening of August 23rd on the path adjacent to the hide bridge. Minimum temperature overnight 10ºC.

21 Species of moth were recorded with two new for the site (shown in bold). The Broad-bordered Yellow Underwing was a new night-time visitor to the trap but there was a day-time record in 2013 when one was seen on Buddleia in the garden area.

Also attracted to the trap Oecetis ochracea (a caddisfly)
