JMNR Sightings 26th August 2016

A lot of dragonfly activity on Bottom Pond. Middle Pond now has some water in it having almost dried up.

Magpie, Whitethroat, Woodpigeon, Wren
Deraeocoris ruber (red variant) – a bug, Rutpela maculata – a beetle, Chaetostomella cylindrica – a fruit fly, Sepedon sphegea – a marsh fly, Conops flavipes – a thick-headed fly, Poecilobothrus nobilitatus – a thick-headed fly, Episyrphus balteatus – a hoverfly, Platycheirus rosarum – a hoverfly, Sphaerophoria scripta – a hoverfly, Volucella pellucens – a hoverfly, Rhingia campestris – a hoverfly, Syritta pipiens – a hoverfly, Eristalis interruptus – a hoverfly, Brown Hawker, Common Darter,Emerald Damselfly, Southern Hawker, many froglets around the site particularly Middle Pond, Common Toad.
